The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) is the authorized constitutional body to conduct the Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Examination. Age Limit/Eligibility

  • Minimum Age : 21 Years.
  • Maximum Age : 40 Years.
  • Age Relaxation is as per Recruitment Rules notified in exam notification.
  • The age is being considered from as notified in the Notification.

Educational Qualification

The Uttar Pradesh civil services exam (UP PCS exam) is conducted in three stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Mains Examination
  3. The Personality Test/Interview

The Plan of Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary examination for the Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services Examination will consist of two compulsory papers- 1. General Studies and 2. General Aptitude Test. The papers shall be 200 marks each and of two hours durations. Both the papers shall be objective Type & multiple choice in which there shall be 150-100 questions Respectively.

Note : (1). Paper-II of the Preliminary Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%. (2). The merit of the Candidates will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-I of the Preliminary Examination. (3). There will be 1/3 negative marking in both the papers.

The Plan of Mains Examination

The Written examination will consist of the following compulsory and optional subjects. The candidates have to select any one subject from the list of optional subjects for main examination which will consist of two papers.
