SSC CAPF Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) examination for the recruitment of candidates in various paramilitary forces in India. The exam is held to fill vacancies in the following forces:
Border Security Force (BSF)
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)
Scheme of Examination
The examination consists of four papers. Paper – I, Paper – II, Paper – III, and Paper – IV. Details of these papers are as follows:
Paper – I: Written Examination:
This is an objective type of paper consisting of four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.

Paper – II: Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
Candidates who qualify in paper – I are required to undergo a Physical Standards Test and Physical Efficiency Test.
Paper – III:
Candidates who qualify in both Paper-I and the Physical Tests are eligible to appear for Paper-III. This paper is a descriptive test that assesses the candidate’s English language and comprehension skills.

This paper includes physical standards and physical efficiency tests.
Syllabus of Paper – III
Candidates who qualify in both Paper-I and the Physical Tests are eligible to appear for Paper-III. This paper is a descriptive test that assesses the candidate’s English language and comprehension skills.

A medical examination is conducted for candidates who clear the previous stages.
