Scheme of Preliminary Examination
It consists of three sections:
English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.
The test duration is typically one hour.
It is conducted online and consists of multiple-choice questions.

Candidates need to qualify in each section by securing minimum cutoff marks to be eligible for the Main examination.
Scheme of Main Examination
It comprises multiple sections: Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language, Data Analysis & Interpretation, and English Descriptive Writing.
The test duration is generally around 3 hours.
Both objective and descriptive tests are conducted online.

Interview
Candidates who qualify the Main Examination are called for a face-to-face interview conducted by participating banks and coordinated by IBPS.
IBPS PO Syllabus
Preliminary Examination:
English Language: Reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and verbal ability.
Quantitative Aptitude: Numerical ability, arithmetic, data interpretation, mathematical problems.
Reasoning Ability: Logical reasoning questions, puzzles, coding-decoding, series, etc.
Main Examination:
Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: Logical reasoning, computer knowledge, data sufficiency, etc.
General/Economy/Banking Awareness: Current affairs, banking awareness, and general knowledge questions related to the economy and banking.
English Language: Similar to the Preliminary exam but may include higher-level questions.
Data Analysis & Interpretation: Data interpretation, data sufficiency, etc.
English Descriptive Writing: Essay and letter writing.
